Union Budget comes under state fire: It's utterly disappointing, says KTR
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday said that he was utterly disappointed with the Union budget as reducing Telangana's share in Central taxes would impact implementation of various development and welfare initiatives of the State government.
Reacting on his Twitter account, KTR said, "Utterly disappointed with the Union budget 2020 while survey showcases Telangana as performer and a progressive State reducing Telangana's share in Central taxes is bound to impact the implementation of various development and welfare initiatives of the State government."
KTR said that the fact that States' share in Central taxes has gone down by an unprecedented 18.9 per cent in financial year 2019-20 proves how poorly the Union government is managing the economic affairs of the country. This is going to severely impact Telangana State's planning.
He further said that the NITI Aayog had recommended Union government to extend financial assistance of Rs 24,000 crore to Telangana's flagship initiatives 'Mission Kakatiya' and 'Mission Bhagiratha', unfortunately the Union government did not allocate even a single rupee in the budget.
