Union Rail Minister lauds SCR for fast rescue
Hyderabad: Union Minister for Railways Piyush Goyal praised the South Central Railways (SCR) for taking immediate measures to rescue injured persons in the MMTS and Hundry express collision incident in which nearly 20 people sustained injured.
The SCR officials said that on the directives of the Rail Minister immediately after the accident and his continuous monitoring of the rescue operations to extricate the Loco Pilot, his clear instructions to render best possible medical care has set a new bench mark to the prevailing atmosphere in industrial relations on Indian Railways.
The Rail Minister also made it explicitly clear that the life of the Loco Pilot L Chandra Shekhar matters most, and every effort should be made to extricate him safely within the least possible time, the SCR official said. The instructions came from the Minister that no effort be spared to save the valuable life of a rail personnel, the official added.
