Unique academic programme launched in Warangal
Warangal: The MHRD Innovation Cell Director and the Smart India Hackathon 2019 Coordinator Dr Mohit Gambhir on Tuesday launched AICTE's new unique academic programme Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Development (PGDM–IEV)" at the SR Innovation Exchange (SRiX) at Ananthasagar in Warangal Urban district.
The course is designed to cater to start-ups, aspiring Entrepreneurs and family businesses across all segments of Internet of Things (IoT), Finance, Health, Agriculture, Education, Med-Tech, Clean-tech etc.
SRiX CEO Sreedevi Devireddy said that their institution is one among the four that offer PGDM–IEV, a unique course, a paradigm shift from regular courses wherein the pedagogy is flexible, highly impactful and experiential. "Our intent is to encourage new ideas and transform them to genuine problem solvers."
The course will enable students develop their idea/startup through Incubation and complete PGDM as well simultaneously in two-year timeframe. There is a Common Entrance Test for admission. Candidates, who qualified in ICET, CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT, are eligible for the direct admission. SRiX School of Entrepreneurship Dean Col. BS Rao said, "We have capsuled the entire gamut of entrepreneurship to include ideation, product development, validation, legal compliances, entering the market, funding and scaling up all under one roof with world class infrastructure, experienced faculty and hands-on mentors".
Dr Mohit Gambhir, who was here as part of Smart India Hackathon, encouraged the participants to attempt at their best to come out with a successful solutions towards. He said that Smart India Hackathon is the biggest event on the globe, initiated by Ministry of Human Resource Development in collaboration with AICTE. This program is a collaborative activity of Educational Institutions, Corporate companies, Ministries of Central & State governments. SIH is initiated in 2017 to Harness creativity & expertise of students, Spark institute-level Hackathons, Build funnel for 'Startup India' campaign, crowd source solutions for improving governance and quality of life and provide opportunity to citizens to provide innovative solutions to India's daunting problems.
Dr Gambhir added that, 1.2 lakh students applied for the third version of SIH and out of which 1,500 students were shortlisted for the final round of Hardware edition. Travelling pan across the country, the students would get a lot of exposure, he said. He conveyed that SIH – Hardware edition was inaugurated yesterday by Union Human Resource Minister Dr Ramesh Pokriyal at MHRD office, New Delhi. Eight teams were allotted to SR Engineering College (SRiX) based on its interest in creating such entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region. SRiX Chairman A Madhukar Reddy, Principal Dr V Mahesh, Deans and faculty were present.
