Unpaid hospital workers stage dharna in Karimnagar
Karimnagar: When surroundings are kept neat and tidy, people will have a healthy life, observed District Joint Collector Vanaja Devi here on Friday.
The JC participated in the Swachh Friday initiative by visiting Budhavarampet and Ramaiahpalli villages of Ramagiri mandal in Peddapalli district.
After inspecting villages, the Joint Collector inspected some areas which were not clean. She explained the people the advantages of keeping surroundings clean and tidy and asked them to maintain their premises hygienic to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
Vanaja Devi said that Swachhata must become our normal routine. By maintaining the surroundings neat and hygienic, people can improve their health and can lead a happy life.
She advised the villagers to construct a soak pit in every house and not to allow rainwater to remain stagnant in vacant places. As it is rainy season, there will be chances of spread of seasonal disease. Vanja advised people not to allow water stagnation in their village at any cost.
She asked the villagers to fill the vacant places along by planting saplings under Haritha Haram programme. By increasing green cover, we will get plenty of fresh air in the future, otherwise a day will come people will have to buy fresh air for their survival. To overcome such a problem, everyone must actively participate in the Haritha Haram programme, she added.
She ordered the sarpanches and ward members to visit every ward to inspect the swachhata and strive hard to maintain their concerned villages neat and clean.
District Panchayat Officer V Sudharshan, District Fisheries Department Officer Mallesham, Budhavarampet sarpanch Devanuri Rajitha, MPP Devakka, ZPTC M Sharada and villagers and others were present on the occasion.
