UoH, OU, AU improve ranking in overall category

Hyderabad: Several Central and State Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) have improved their performance in overall category as well as rankings in the engineering and other streams in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2019 rankings announced on Monday by President Ramnath Kovid at a special event in Delhi.

Accordingly, in the overall NIRF-2019 rankings, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has got 11 positions with 61.85 points among the 100 top institutions in the country.

Similarly, the Indian Institute of Technology in Hyderabad (IIT-H) has got 22nd rank with 56.92 points followed by Andhra University in Visakhapatnam stood in 29th rank with 52.11points and Osmania University in Hyderabad is ranked 43 with 49.86 points.

While the National Institute of Technology in Warangal (NIT-W) is in 61st rank with 46.06 points, the Tripathi-based Sri Venkateswara University stood in 72nd with 44.88 points.

Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation University (K L College of Engineering) from Andhra Pradesh is the only private university from both the Telugu States figured in the overall rankings of the 100 HEIs standing in 74th position with 44.70 points.

Among the top 100 universities in the country, the UoH has stood in the 4th rank, Andhra University in 16th rank, Osmania University in 26th, Sri Venkateswara University in 48th rank.

Also, the KL College of Engineering from AP stood with 50th position, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences, Tirupathi with 77th, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University Hyderabad with 79th rank, International Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad (IIIT-Hyderabad) with 82nd and Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) in Visakhapatnam with 84th rank.

Similarly, among the top 100 HEIs in the engineering, the IIT-H stood in the 8-rank, followed by NIT in Warangal in 26th rank and the State-run Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Hyderabad stood with 45th rank.

While KL College of Engineering from AP got 52nd rank, the College of Engineering in Visakhapatnam stood in 59th rank, followed by University College of Engineering, Osmania University in Hyderabad with 83rd rank.

Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupathi from AP and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) from Hyderabad, stood at 89th and 100th ranks respectively.

Among the colleges Andhra Loyola College in Vijayawada with 45th rank, and Silver Jubilee Degree College, Kurnool with 66th rank, both from Andhra Pradesh. St. Francis College for Women is the lone college from Telangana which has got 95th among the 100 top colleges.

Likewise, among the 75 top management institutions in the country, the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education in Hyderabad stood in 26-rank, Institute for Financial Management in Satyavedu from AP in 47th rank, Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation University from AP in 58th rank, and Institute of Management Technology in Hyderabad from Telangana in 67th rank.

Among the top 75 pharmacy HEIs in the country, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad stood at 6th rank, followed by Andhra University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Visakhapatnam with 34th rank.

Similarly, Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visva Vidyalayam in Tirupathi stood at 46th rank and Acharya Nagarjuna University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur, at 50th rank, Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Guntur at 51st rank, Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy in Chittoor at 57th rank, Raghavendra Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research in Anantapur at 63rd rank and Sultan Ul Uloom College of Pharmacy in Hyderabad at 65th rank.

While the Indian Law University School in Bengaluru has stood in the first rank among the top 15 Law HEIs in the country, Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad secured 3rd rank, followed by Dr B R Ambedkar College of Law in Visakhapatnam go 15th rank.

Of the top 15, HEIs ranked in the field of Architecture, the School of Planning and Architecture in Vijayawada is in 9th rank, followed by College of Engineering in Visakhapatnam in 11th rank. Among the top 30 HEIs in the medical stream, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences in Tirupati secured 29th rank.
