Peddapalli: Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Package introduced by the Central government for gaining momentum in terms of economy must be utilized perfectly, District Collector Sikta Patnaik directed the officials at a meeting with bankers at the Collectorate in Peddapalli on Friday.

Stating that the centre had announced Rs 20 lakh crore package to bail out small merchants and street vendors, who were badly hit economically with Covid-19, the Collector told the officials to prepare an action plan to create awareness among them about the package so that maximum number of people can utilise the opportunity.

As per the government suggestion to sanction Rs 10,000 loan immediately to street vendors and small merchants, she asked the officials to identify such people in the district and to issue vending certificates to all of them.

The officials informed the Collector that around 2,058 small merchants and street vendors were identified in the four municipalities present in the district and vending certificates were issued to 457 members.

Collector Sikta Patnaik informed that there are about 7,682 MSMEs, who enrolled before February 29, 2020 in the district, without standing loan amount of Rs.34.73 crore. Loans will be sanctioned with 20% guarantee from the government to micro and medium scale industries, depending on their outstanding investment. The government will sanction 20% loans, about Rs 68.35 crore out of the outstanding amount. It is the responsibility of the industries department to create awareness among them. And those who seek loan can avail it until October 31, 2020, she informed.

The Collector informed that the government had sanctioned the amount for waiving off crop loans of farmers, whose loan amount is below Rs 25,000. She ordered the officials to give the correct details of farmers after correcting the mistakes in the list, to the bankers.

Ramagundam Municipal Commissioner Uday Kumar, Peddapalli Municipal Commissioner Tirupati, RDO Vinod Kumar, District Agriculture Officer Thirumal Prasad, District Horticulture Officer Jyothi, District lead Bank Manager Prem Kumar, District Industries Department Officer Harinath and District Fisheries Department Officer Mallesham were present along with the representatives of various banks.
