Vallabhbhai's birth anniversary celebrated

Tandur: The birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel were organised on a grand note by Vallabhbhai Patel Youth Association here on Thursday. Attendees garlanded the portrait of Patel and paid tributes.

Speaking on the occasion, the constituency convener of BC Welfare Association Raj Kumar said the first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, resolved the issues of disunity in the country.

He helped merge the princely states into the country and formed Indian Union, he said. Hyderabad was the most important state which was merged into Indian Union after some resistance, he added.

Secretary of Hindu Utsav Samithi Narsimhulu, town president of the Congress party Prabhakar Goud, Venkat Reddy, K Siddalingam, Hari, G Venkatesh, BJP leaders Krishna Mudiraj, Sudarshan Goud, B Bhadru, Vijay, P Ravikumar, Ramesh, Ramu, Rajani, Ashok and others were present.
