Vegetable, meat markets inaugurated in Wanaparthy
Wanaparthy: Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy and Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy took part in various development programmes in Wanaparthy district on Wednesday. Singireddy along with the Speaker visited the Wanaparthy district headquarters and inaugurated a vegetable market and meat market near Gandhi Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, the Agriculture Minister said that all these years Wanaparthy district had no exclusive vegetable or meat markets and they the sellers were facing a lot of problems by selling their products on the roads. However, with government sanctioning funds, the vegetable market and the meat market have been constructed in a span of just six months and brought them into use by the sellers.
"The old unused trench is now converted into a usable and well-facilitated vegetable market. Even the meat market is also made available. Our government is committed to the welfare of the people and the farmers. The farmers must utilise this market, sell their produce and earn good returns," said the Minister, while inaugurating the markets.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy appreciated the work done by the Minister for the uplift of farmers. Later, both the leaders visited Kottapet bus stage in Pangal mandal and inaugurated the newly-constructed bus stop. The bus stop was constructed in the memory of Singireddy Tarakamma and Ramreddy, parents of Agriculture Minister. Both the leaders later inaugurated the statue of Telangana Thalli and garlanded the statue and offered prayers besides planting samplings surrounding the statue and the bus stand.
Later in the evening, the duo leaders visited Ward 30 and 24 in the district and inaugurated the newly-constructed public parks in the respective wards.
