Vemulawada Gudi Cheruvu to get a facelift

Sircilla: The State government has sanctioned Rs 6 crore for the beautification of Vemulawada Gudi Cheruvu situated in the temple town of Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district and issued orders to the officials concerned to take up the works as early as possible.

In view of thousands of devotees visiting the temple town to have darshan of Sri Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy, Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu requested Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao for beautification of Gudi Cheruvu along with the development of surrounding areas of the temple for creating a pleasant atmosphere to the devotees and sent proposals to the government. Accepting his proposals, the government had sanctioned Rs 6 crore for beautification of Gudi Cheruvu of Vemulawada.

In a statement released here, MLA Ch Ramesh Babu said that with the funds that were sanctioned, several works will be taken up like beautification works of Gudi Cheruvu, construction of a bridge, collection of about 29 acres in the surrounding areas for laying 150 feet ring road.

Earlier, the government sanctioned Rs 63.35 crore for restoration and repairing works of Gudi Cheruvu under Mission Kakatiya project.

All major works were completed with the amount that was released earlier along with collecting 35 acres of land and handling over it to the temple authorities. Further the beautification works will be taken up with Rs 6 crores funds that were released by government recently, Ramesh informed.

The officials also prepared proposals for the construction of pushkar ghats along with the installation of Lord Shiva idol in the middle of Gudi Cheruvu at a cost of Rs 8 crore and submitted the proposals to the government.

Once all the works are completed, the temple town of Vemulawada will look more beautiful and a pleasant place for the devotees, who visit to have darshan of Lord Shiva, added MLA Ramesh Babu.
