Verify voters list ward-wise: Collector M Prashanthi

Nirmal: District Collector M Prashanthi told the Municipal Special Officer to verify voter's list ward-wise carefully while addressing a meeting with Municipal Bill Collectors on re-organisation of municipal wards at the municipal conference hall in Nirmal on Friday.

The Collector instructed the municipal staff about the activities to be carried out as part of wards reorganisation and told the bill collectors to visit each house to check whether the voters list is correct or not. If the people make any suggestions, then the bill collector should submit a confirmed report on the suggestions before December 9. She said that 14 bill collectors have been appointed to verify at voters lists and they have to check the list of voters in 14 wards every day. They were also told to check the voters list of 42 wards and submit the report. Also, a door-to-door verification programme should be conducted whether the voters list is without any mistakes or not.

The Collector told the officials and bill collectors to examine carefully, whether a voter from one ward can shift to another ward. They were also told to accept opinions and suggestions of the public during the verification program and an inquiry will be conducted after December 9 on the suggestions of people.

According to the list of photo votes, voters in each house should be checked and SC, ST, BC and OC voters in all wards should be verified, she added.

Municipal Commissioner Venkateshwarlu, Nirmal Urban Tahsildar Subhash, Town Planning Officer Sumalatha, RO Srinivas, building inspector, bill collectors and others were present.
