Asifabad: Vidya Volunteers on Monday demanded the district administration to release their pending salaries immediately as they have not been paid for their services since March of this year.

The Vidya Volunteers(VVs) submitted a representation to Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu at Prajavani programme held in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad.

The union leaders said that about 1265 VVs have been discharging their duties in different government Upper Primary, Primary and High Schools in the district for many years.

However, in academic year 2018-19 they submitted memorandum to the District Collector and District Educations Officer demanding release of their pending salaries several times. The union leaders requested the Collector to release their pending February, March and April salaries and June and July salaries immediately. If the government fails to release pending salaries before September first week they would sit on dharna, they warned.

The union district present Nekadi Mahesh, general secretary Mettupalli Purushotham Chari, Narendar, Azeem Pasha, Charandas and others were present.
