Vigilance officials seize 658 bags of PDS rice in Gadwal
Gadwal: The Vigilance officials have seized as many 658 bags of PDS rice in Gadwal district on Friday early hours.
On a tip-off, the Vigilance officials led by Chief Vigilance Officer Surya Prakash from Hyderabad and Gadwal Civil Supplies official Chandra Sekhar Reddy, along with the support of local police, conducted a raid at Manikanta Rice Mill on Ija road on Thursday midnight and found 658 bags of PDS rice stocked illegally in the mill.
The police seized the PDS rice and shifted the bags to the Gadwal police station in a lorry. The police and the enforcement authorities have booked a case, and further investigation is underway.
"Based on credible information, we conducted a raid on the Manikanta Rice Mill in Gadwal and found as many as 658 bags of PDS rice stocked illegally. We have registered a case against the rice mill owner and investigating the matter," said Chandra Sekhar Reddy.
