Vijayashanti condemns police behaviour

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former MP Vijayashanti has strongly condemned the behaviour of police personnel during the protest held by girl students at Unani Hospital, Charminar

Reacting to the incident that occurred at Unani Hospital on her Facebook Page, Vijayashanti said that female Ayurvedic medical students were treated inappropriately by the policemen. She demanded stern action against the police officials for their indecent behaviour. She said that incident has been reported in media and being widely condemned by one and all. However, she said TRS Government has maintained stoic silence over the incident.

Vijayashanti alleged that the TRS Government was not sensitive towards the issues concerning students. She said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao took no action against the officials despite several students committing suicide due to errors in the valuation of intermediate exams. Similarly, the TRS Government did not take a serious note of the incident wherein the brother of a TRS MLA brutally attacked a women Forest Range Officer in full public view. She said although the State Government claims to have formed 'SHE Teams', there was no protection for women from the policemen, officials or ruling party leaders.
