Vikarabad: Keep surroundings clean, Collector Pausumi Basu urges people

Vikarabad: District Collector Pausumi Basu has called upon people not to throw garbage in open places. As part of 'Pattana Pragathi' programme, she visited Rikshaw Colony, Budaga Jangam Colony, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Indira Nagar, Maruthi Nagar on Friday. MLA Dr M Anand also accompanied her.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said people should cooperate with the officials in keeping the town neat and clean. She directed municipal authorities to use excavators to clean the dirty areas. She gave several instructions to the officials concerned to make the town clean and green. MLA Dr Anand said towns would become clean and hygienic when officials and people's representatives work with responsibility. He also suggested that councilors also take responsibility and see that the respective wards get clean. Later, while inspecting the bus depot area, the Collector directed the manager to run additional service to Parigi in early morning, as requested by the passengers.

Municipal chairperson Manjula Ramesh, RDO Upender Reddy, municipal commissioner Bhogeshwarlu, tahasildar Ravinder, councilors, and others were also present.
