Vikarabad: The district administration has made all the arrangements at the quarantine centre with 250 beds set up at the Haritha Resort atop Ananthagiri hills. Necessary medicines were made available along with the paramedics. The World Health Organization team led by consultant Dr Sneha, on Saturday visited the Quarantine Center set up in the resort and the Corona Isolation Ward in Tandur. Also, the resort was inspected by collector Pausumi Basu and Telangana Tourism MD Manohar. The Quarantine centre accommodates 250 beds with 36 rooms. Natives and foreigners coming from Italy, South Korea, China, Iran, Hong Kong, France and Spain, where the virus is so severe, will be shifted to the Quarantine Center. However, those who come to the country from the respective countries will be brought directly to Vikarabad from Shamshabad Airport. All arrangements have been made to place them separately for 14 days. The officials made arrangements to rush the suspected cases to Gandhi to the hospital immediately if there were any. In addition, doctors, nurses, and necessary medications are also available at the Centre to provide basic care to those who have colds, coughs and shortness of breath. District officials said that as of Friday night, 14 people from seven affected countries were coming to the country and that they were being evacuated to the quarantine centre. Arrangements at the centre, on the other hand, were handed over to the six tahsildars. The Collector was outraged over the lack of proper arrangements at the centre.

The district administration has taken several initiatives in view of setting up the Corona Quarantine Center. As a precautionary measure, the road leads to Tandur via Anantha Padmanabha Swamy was closed. The road leading to Tandur over Ananthagiri and the road leading to it were also closed. Vehicles heading towards Tandur were diverted from Kereli to Bugga Rameshwaram Temple. Security has been beefed up at the centre. The CRPF team and the local police were deployed.

On the other hand, several political parties expressed their concern over the centre. An all-party conference was held in Vikarabad on Sunday. They fear that the centre may cause serious damage to the lives of the people living in Vikarabad. They demanded that the centre be shifted to a remote place.

Former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, former ministers Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Dr A Chandrasekhar, Gopalakrishnan. Sudhakar Reddy, Congress Party President of the Vikarabad Town, BJP, CPM, VHP and Vikarabad Development Forum leaders were also present.
