Villagers lock up VRO in Panchayat office

Bhupalpally: Accusing of bribe charges against a village revenue officer (VRO), the residents of Nawabpet village under Chityal mandal detained him at the Gram Panchayat office. The villagers alleged that the VRO Adinarayana has been demanding bribe to issue pattadar passbooks to farmers. They also complained that the VRO is an alcoholic even while he was on duty. They demanded the District Collector to take stern action against the VRO. The local Tahsildar rushed to the village and pacified the farmers. He assured them of issuing the passbooks to the farmers.
