Villagers made aware of Annapoorna Krishi Prasara Seva app benefits

Sangareddy: Cornell Sathguru Foundation for Development in partnership with Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University and with the financial support of Aurobindo Pharma foundation has organised a village-level knowledge sharing session on Annapoorna Krishi Prasara Seva (AKPS) application in Paniyal and Badampet, Hathnoora, Sangareddy.

During the programme, the farmers, using their mobiles numbers and other vital information, were registered to AKPS and were given a thorough knowledge on using the application for agriculture and related services. This programme will be taken forward by CSFD in future and ensure that the villagers are registered on this app, with an aim to provide holistic support for the development of the farming community.

Sailu, representing Digital India, informed the farmers that the services of AKPS could be availed for free by calling the AKPS app toll free number -1800 425 3141.

Dr Srinivas Rao, Scientist, DAATTC explained various methods to prevent pests in the cotton and paddy crops. The session was made interactive with the farmers, who brought a sample of the infested plants of cotton and paddy and asked for solutions at the venue.

Raja Rajeswari, Associate Vice President, CSFD highlighted that Village Information Centre will be established in Paniyal and Badampet villages through which valuable information pertaining to agriculture and its allied sectors will be made readily available to the farmers in order to help them make effective decisions.

She added, through AKPS it is now possible for farmers to seek solutions regarding pests, crop health and various other queries right from their fields by using various features of this service. Spandana, representative of DAATTC, Ramakrishna, Programme Officer at CSFD and Papiah Shastry, Mandal Coordinator, also participated.
