Villagers pledge to wear helmets in Nirmal

Nirmal: Dangapur of Nirmal mandal is the first village in the district, where all the residents use helmets. The villagers came forward to wear helmets and took out a bike rally from their village to Nirmal rural police station on Monday.

Recently, during a raid, Nirmal district police had seized two bikes as the riders were driving without helmets in Dangapur village in the district.

District Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju, the chief guest, held a meeting with the villagers to raise awareness on road safety and administered oath by the villagers to wear helmets for their safety.

All the villagers had decided that everyone will wear helmet while driving a two wheeler.

SP Shashidhar Raju and SP distributed sweets to them on the occasion.

Nirmal DSP Upendar Reddy, Town CI John Diwakar, Rural SI Krishna Kumar, village sarpanch and villagers were present.
