Villagers stage protest over Pharma unit construction in Suryapet

Villagers of Chintalapalem of Dondapadu mandal staged a protest over the Pharma unit proposal in Suryapet. They boycotted the public hearing organised by the State Pollution Control Board and vandalised the chairs and pulled down the tents at the venue.

They alleged that underground water was polluted due to the chemical factories established around the village. "The whole area was already damaged," said the villagers opposing the establishment of SGR Laboratories private limited.

The villagers said that they will not tolerate any kind of proposal pertaining to factory establishment.
