Villagers told to keep surroundings clean in Peddapalli

Peddapalli: By maintaining the surroundings neat and clean, people can live a healthy life, stated District Collector Sri Devasena. She participated in Swachh Bharat programme organised in Raghavapur village of Peddapalli mandal in Peddapalli district on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Collector Sri Devasena advised the villagers to maintain the surroundings clean and warned them that there are possibilities of falling sick if they live in unhygienic conditions. She said that notices will be issued to the house owners, if they show negligence in maintaining their surroundings clean.

All the villagers must unitedly maintain their village neat and tidy and must cooperate in Swachhata programme.

ZPTCs, MPTCs, sarpanches and ward members were told to strive hard in maintaining the villages and areas clean, which they are representing. The Collector asked the villagers to construct one soaking pit in front of their houses which would help in increasing groundwater levels.

District Panchayat Officer V Sudarshan, DPRO V Sridhar, MPDO Raju, Sarpanch A Venkatesh and villagers were present along with others.
