Virus all set explode in Telangana; 79 new cases in GHMC limits

Hyderabad: Telangana reported a big number of cases (79) on Sunday and all these cases were from GHMC limits only.

Since the beginning of May, while cases in rest of the State have shown a decline, situation in GHMC limits looks the opposite.

The virus is spreading to new areas and cases are being reported in big numbers. Fresh cases are from Begum bazaar, Gadiannaram, Jiyaguda, Kishanbagh and others are some of the areas that were impacted. The total number of cases rose to 1275 in the State so far.

According to sources, Telangana also started testing primary contacts of positive cases reported from April last week. These people were not tested earlier as asymptomatic.

However, in a fresh stand all these contacts, even if asymptomatic are being tested and hence cases have raised in last three days are so in GHMC area.

Also, another 50 patients were discharged and 42 of them are from GHMC limits only.

Meanwhile, a flight with 118 passengers reached Hyderabad from San Fransisco via Mumbai on Monday morning.

All passengers were screened and none of them were found symptomatic, according to Anuradha Medoju, senior regional director, Union Health Ministry is looking after TS and AP affairs.

Another flight from Abu Dhabi reached on Monday night.
