Earlier, Vivekanand met party national general secretary Ram Madhav, Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy and party working president J P Nadda.

Later, the former MP also met party chief and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who welcomed him into the party fold.

Giving reasons for his new innings in the saffron party, he said BJP is a democratic party and he was inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Besides, BJP is not a family-run entity like TRS. He charged TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao steering the state as if it is his own family-run corporate company.

MoS G Kishan Reddy said Vivekananda had played an active role in the fight for separate statehood and his joining would strengthen the party in Telangana.
