Wanaparthy: District RTC has launched first direct bus to Mumbai from here on Monday. Earlier, there was a bus from Kurnool to Mumbai via Wanaparthy, once in a week and all bus services were stopped due to lockdown.

ZP Chairman Loknath Reddy cut the ribbon launching the new bus service to Mumbai and said that after a gap of more than 10 months, locals can go directly to Mumbai. He further added that every year thousands of people from Wanaparthy and surrounding places will go to Mumbai for employment. As Covid-19 pandemic has slowly started receding and with the vaccine coming soon, the RTC is restoring bus services to all destinations, he added.

Wanaparthy depot manager Devadanam cut the first ticket and urged the people to utilise the transportation facility as they don't need to go to Hyderabad or Mahbubnagar to board a bus to Mumbai. They can reserve their seat from Wanaparthy and can have easy transportation, he added.

Municipal Chairman Gattu Yadav, vice-chairman Vakiti Sridhar, Premnath Reddy and counsellors Kanchi Ravi, Satyam Sagar, Gopal Yadav, Vinod Goud, Gulam Khadar, Sekhar Nayak, Jatru Nayak and others participated in the programme.
