Wanaparthy: Newly-wed man attacked by wifes kin
Wanaparthy: In a shocking incident, a newly-married man was attacked with a knife by his wife's cousin, in Achutapurram village of Wanaparthy district on Friday.
According to Wanaparthy police, Kalyan (22) and Pushpalatha (19), of the same caste were in love for the last one year and tried to convince their respective parents for their marriage. However, Pushpalatha's parents refused to the proposal as Kalyan was working as a driver.

Upon reaching the village, both families started discussing the issue with the elders, when suddenly the culprit, Ravi, cousin of Pushpalatha, slit the throat of Kalyan with a knife. Ravi even attacked Pushpalatha, who came to the rescue of Kalyan, and fled the spot.

Based on a complaint filed by the parents of Kalyan, the police booked a case against Ravi and launched a man hunt to nab him. "We have booked a case against Ravi and have launched search. We will nab him very soon," said Shafi, Sub-Inspector, Wanaparthy rural.
