Warangal: 3-member women gang held, booty seized
Warangal: The CCS police on Monday arrested a three-member women thieves gang and seized silver ornaments worth around Rs 1.35 lakh from the gang.
The accused were identified as Masa, Shanigaram Pulamma and Gudipaka Radha of Issipet village under Mogullapally mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
The modus operandi of the gang is to divert the attention of the jewellery shop staff, acting as customers.
Pulamma, a vegetable vendor, and Masa and Radha, both agriculture labourers, who are relatives to each other, formed a gang to make easy money to lead a comfortable life.
Beginning with theft in Huzurabad of Karimnagar district in 2011, they were involved in 10 thefts.
Although they were arrested by the Matwada Police in January this year and came out on bail after a few days, the trio didn't change, the police said.
Based on the closed-circuit television footage, the police identified the trio and took them into custody when they were trying to sell the stolen property at RNT Road in Warangal.
CCS Inspector L Ramesh Kumar, Sub-inspector B Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, Jangaon SI K Srinivas and CCS ASI T Veeraswamy were among others, who participated in the raid to nab the accused.
