Warangal: 3 thieves held in 2 separate cases

Warangal: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday arrested three persons in connection with two separate cases and seized property worth around Rs 18 lakh from them.

Speaking to media persons here, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said that they had arrested Gajula Yogender alias Yogi, resident of Jawaharnagar in Ranga Reddy district, who was involved in several theft cases in Trimulgherry and Alwal police station limits since 2012. 'He (Yogender) also involved in a murder case in Secunderabad. He took to crime again after serving a term in the jail till 2016. Of late, he shifted his base to Warangal and involved in seven theft cases in Subedari, Mills Colony and Intejargunj police station limits. He used to target locked houses.'

Against this backdrop, the Intejargunj police had seen Yogi moving suspiciously near Warangal railway station. The police, who searched him, found a gold chain with him. During the interrogation, Yogi confessed to his crime. The police recovered 241 grams of gold jewellery worth around Rs 13.70 lakh, two kilogrammes silver ornaments, four laptops, four video cameras, one iPad, two iPhones and three watches from him.

In another case, the Mamnoor police arrested two women, who were involved in housebreaks since 2008. The police said that Nune Kistamma and Sripathi Lingamma, residents of Budajungala colony near Madikonda, who used to pose as rag pickers involved in several theft cases in Mamnoor, Parkal, Wardhannapet, Hanamkonda, KUC and Bhongir police station limits. The police arrested them near RTA office at Mamnoor and seized gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 4.21 lakh from them.

The Commissioner commended East Zone DCP K R Nagaraju, ACPs Narasaiah, Narsinga Rao, Inspectors Sridhar, Ajay, Kishore, Ramesh Kumar and others for nabbing culprits.
