Warangal City to boast of a new look soon: Mayor
Warangal: The historical Warangal city will boast a new look in the near future, Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao said. He along with Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash and Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender roamed around the city to make a note of initiatives to be taken up for the beautification of the city.
They inspected Warangal Railway Station, Chowrastha, Pochamma Maidan and MGM Hospital junctions and discussed about the measures to improve the aesthetics of the city.
"Our focus is not just on giving a new look to the city but also to improve infrastructure so that it could find a place on international tourism map," Gunda Prakash said. All the junctions would be given a facelift besides ensuring traffic signal-free, he added. The administration has plans to develop spacious traffic junctions by acquiring nearby private land, he said.
Banda Prakash said that civic body in coordination with the BSNL, TSRTC and other departments will come up with an action plan to develop the junctions in the city. Nannapuneni Narender said that election code was in force continuously since the TRS retained power in December 2018. The city would witness a huge development in the near future, he added.
Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Commissioner N Ravi Kiran, Traffic ACP Md Mazid, GWMC SE Bikshapathi and KUDA PO E Ajith Reddy were among others present.
