Warangal: Cops return seized vehicles

Warangal: The police on Saturday started the process of returning the vehicles that were seized during the lockdown to their owners.

It may be mentioned here that police had seized as many as 13,917 vehicles including 13,040 two-wheelers, 554 auto-rickshaws, 281 cars, 42 tractors etc from the owners for flouting the lockdown norms. The police seized the vehicles by booking cases under section 188 of the IPC. This apart, the police also booked 24,492 e-petty and 575 FIR.

Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said: "All the impounded vehicles would be returned to their owners, as per the directions of the DGP. The vehicle owners need to visit the respective police stations with relevant documents of their vehicle and Aadhaar card. They have to give an undertaking to appear before court along with vehicle whenever required." Additional DCPs N Malla Reddy, Hanamkonda ACP Jithender Reddy, Inspector Dayakar, Sub-inspectors Srinivas and Komuravelli were among present.
