Warangal: Cops told to make use of technology in crime detection and prevention
Warangal: Advancement of technology is a boon and it needs to be utilized fully, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said.
Speaking at the one-day training programme on 'Use of technology in crime detection and prevention' for the sub-divisional officers organised at the CKM College here on Wednesday, he said that technology complements human resource capabilities effectively.
Emphasising the need for focusing on use of technology in crime prevention and maintenance of law and order, he told the officials to get well versed with the latest technologies. He also emphasised the importance of the vertical and 5S policing system.
"From home guards to sub-inspectors keep an eye on key performance indicators for functional verticals, aimed at achieving quality uniform service delivery in police stations," Ravinder said.
Referring to the vertical system, he said that use of technology has enhanced the performance of the police especially in crime detection and preventing crime. Face recognition technology, fingerprint, footage of CCTV cameras etc have become crucial in the crime detection, he said. "Even though the technology has advanced to gigantic proportions, ultimately, the onus is on investigating officers to make use of it," the Commissioner said.
ACP Sarangapani, Matwada, Intezargunj, Mills Colony and IT Core Team Inspectors Ganesh, Venkateshwarlu, Naresh Kumar, Sub-inspectors Praveen Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Ramesh, Bheemesh, Venkateshwarlu and Ravinder were among others present.
