Warangal: First train after 50 days

Warangal: A special train heading to Chennai from New Delhi carrying people stranded due to ongoing coronavirus lockdown has made a halt at Warangal railway station on Thursday. Incidentally, this is the first passenger train that halted in Warangal after more than 50 days. As many as 138 passengers boarded the train while 85 passengers alighted at the station. The train is scheduled to reach Chennai on Friday.


The district administration has made arrangements for the passengers. Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender, who inspected the arrangements, said that the details of the passenger, who alighted at Warangal, have been recorded and they were given passes. The medical teams conducted thermal screening and stamped them for home quarantine for 14 days. "We have ensured people to maintain physical distancing," Narender said.

It may be mentioned here that passengers leaving the station were asked to arrive two hours before the departure of trains so that to fulfil the formalities.
