Warangal: Jana Vignana Vedika to organise Chekumuki science festival

Warangal: Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV), Warangal (Urban) District Committee, to hold mega science event "Chekumuki Science Talent Festival" school, mandal, district and the State levels. The main objective of the festival is to promote quest for science among children and to sharpen their creative scientific skills.

JVV Telangana State Science & Technology Convener Dr. K Laxma Reddy of NIT Warangal disclosed their plans to hold the School level Chekumuki Science Talent Festival in Warangal combined district on November 21, in which around 1.2 lakh students are expected to take part. The mandal level festival will be conducted on December 5 and district level on December15, he added.

Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil and KUDA Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy released the posters of Chekumuki Science Talent Festival at the Collectorate here on Tuesday. The JVV delegation has requested KUDA Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy to develop the Regional Science Centre (RSC) in Hanamkonda so that it would transform into a science museum.

The delegation, which expressed its readiness to provide technical assistance for the development of the RSC, urged the administration to utilise the expertise of professors of the National Institute of Technology (NIT). JVV district president Dr L Anjaneyulu, vice-presidents Dr D Prabhakara Chary and Dr M Ramulu, general secretary KB Dharam Prakash and district Chekumuki in-charge Kumaraswamy were among others present.
