Warangal man sentenced to death in 9-month-old rape case
Praveen, the accused in nine-month-old girl rape case has been sentenced to death by a fast track court here at Warangal on Thursday.
The incident which took place in Tailor street in Hanamkonda had sent shock waves among the people. Meanwhile, Srihita's parents and Child Welfare chairman Parasuram welcomed the court's judgement, which has been pronounced 48 days after the incident.
"The verdict is expected but complete justice will be done when the punishment is implemented," said Srihita's parents.
Telangana DGP M. Mahender Reddy congratulated the Warangal police for providing timely justice to the victim's family.

The nine-month-old girl was abducted from her house while she was sleeping on the terrace with her parents. Around 1.45 am, the parents noticed their baby was missing and began searching for her.
Praveen was caught by the girl's uncle who handed over him to police. The baby was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
