Warangal: Plea for fast-track court
Warangal: Protests and demonstration continued in Warangal on Tuesday with people from all walks of life demanding capital punishment for the accused Kolipaka Praveen, who allegedly molested and killed a nine-month-old baby in Hanamkonda a few days ago, besides providing speedy justice to the victim's parents.
Against this backdrop, Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, newly elected Member of Legislative Council from Warangal Local Authorities, has urged the Chief Justice, Hyderabad High Court, to establish a fast track court for expediting disposal of a case registered against the accused.
In a letter to the Chief Justice, Pochampally said: "In view of the gravity of the offence – the manner in which the infant was molested and killed – and by taking into cognizance of the sentiments of the people at large, the case requires to be tried immediately without any delay."
Despite the fact that judiciary is burdened with heavy pendency of cases, it's inevitable to constitute a fast track court to expedite the disposal of the case, he urged the Chief Justice.
