Warangal: RTC staff defy KCR, continue stir
Warangal: Defying the ultimatum issued by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the TSRTC employees, who have been on strike since October 5, appears to be firm on holding their forte by continuing their stir.
It may be noted here that the ultimatum to join the duties set by CM KCR to end on Tuesday midnight.
Despite the deadline, only eight regular employees submitted letters to the RTC authorities expressing their wish to return to work. However, four of them backtracked on their decision and vowed to go with the stirring employees.
In the erstwhile Warangal district, RTC has 4,031 regular employees operating 942 buses. On an average 10 lakh passengers utilise the RTC bus services every day in the erstwhile district.
Meanwhile, it's learnt that the TSRTC official received 172 applications from the private players to run the buses. The officials completed the process of scrutinizing the applications and ready to issue the permit letters to them, it's learnt.
Although the Warangal Region RTC officials were trying their best to run 100 percent services, they failed to do so. The authorities hired 485 private drivers and 696 conductors to run the services. Warangal Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said that they will provide security to the employees willing to resume their duties.
