Warangal: RTC staff firm, continue stir
Warangal: The TSRTC employees, who ignored the deadline set by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, continued their strike in the erstwhile Warangal district on Wednesday, the 33rd day.
Even though 19 employees - two drivers, eight conductors, two mechanics, one store staff, five PDs, one AD - had joined the duties by Tuesday midnight, majority of them reversed their decision and joined the strike again, it's leant. The seniors, who are nearing their superannuation, are said to have joined their duties.
Meanwhile, a large number of RTC employees staged a protest near Warangal depot. They raised slogans against the State government. They said that they would continue their strike until their justifiable demands are met with.
RTC JAC leader Sambasiva Rao said that the State government would have held talks with the employees to resolve the issues, instead of continuing its stand. It's unfair on the part of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to ignore the employees' demands, he added. The government should desist from privatising the RTC, he said, urging the government to tackle the issue in fair manner. He demanded the government to hold the talks with them to end the impasse.
