Warangal: Suchit gets kudos for his work on Sustainable Building Assessment

Warangal: The National Institute of Technology, Warangal, (NITW), Construction Technology and Management, Department of Civil Engineering (CED) has awarded PhD to Suchith Reddy Arukala, Assistant Professor in CED, Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW). His PhD work entitled "Development of a Framework for Sustainable Building Assessment" under the combined guidance of dynamic Professors Dr P Rathish Kumar and Dr P Anand Raj, according to KITS Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy.

Suchith Reddy developed a tool to assess the building performance towards sustainability considering social, environmental, economic and technological aspects and represented as an end-user graphical user interface (GUI) called sustainable building assessment tool (SBAT).

Prof Ashoka Reddy appreciated the flexibility and robustness in developed SBAT GUI software. Further, this acts as a self-assessment tool for the people of India to observe their own building performance and thus improve the status and identified potential gaps in attaining sustainable building.

Suchith Reddy said that since Warangal has attained the status of Smart City and Heritage City, it requires huge resources for infrastructural and construction facilities, the need of the hour is efficient and effective utilisation of land, water, air and energy with minimum impact on environment, social and economic aspects without compromising the future requirement.
