Warangal: Symposium on technology for students organized at KITSW

Warangal: The technology has come a long way, from large size computer to one that fits into a pocket, Rajya Sabha member Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao, who is also the secretary & correspondent of the Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITSW), said.

He was speaking at a national level student symposium on technology christened as Sumshodhini'19 jointly, was organized by the KITSW and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) here on Friday.

Lakshmikantha Rao said that the aim of the event is to give exposure to students thus allowing them to gain knowledge. "It's a technical platform for the students in interdisciplinary engineering fields to share and learn the latest developments. Application with the latest technical skills is the need of the hour," he said.

KITSW principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy said: "The theme of Sumshodhini'19 is 'Environ, Recycle & Reliability'. This event is for the quest for quality and to inculcate the technical skills among students. Various engineering departments have been conducting technical workshops. There are cash prizes up to Rs 75,000 to encourage the students, he added.

The Dean of Student Affairs and program convener Dr. K Sridhar said that there 718 students have registered and participated in the seven workshops and 2,000 above students are actively involved in this technical symposium. The students will gain technical knowledge, presentation skills, improve the leadership qualities, communication skills, team spirit and cultivate the work culture.

The event management members E Ramreddy, A Harish, alumnus V Indraneel, ISTE Chairman and Programme coordinator, KITSW chapter Prof K V Raghubabu, Co-coordinator Dr. S Sunil Prathap Reddy, student president for Sumshodhini Puli Narsimha Reddy, student coordinator Ravanth Reddy and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were among others present.
