Warangal: Tributes paid to Jyotiba Phule at Kakatiya University

Warangal: Rich tributes were paid to social reformer Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his 129th death anniversary on Thursday by the Kakatiya University Executive Council members Prof M Rajeshwar, Prof Thallapally Manohar and Gundala Madan Kumar.

They said that Phule strived hard for equal rights for all regardless of caste and creed. Phule also strived hard towards eradicating untouchability and the caste system, they added.

"Phule dedicated his entire life for the upliftment of the downtrodden besides working for women's education. The ideals of Phule are still relevant," they said. The programme was presided over by the SC/ST SDLCE Employees Union President Dr Kotte Bhaskar and Vice-President Dr Sangala Ephraim Raj.

KU Development Office Prof V Ramachandram, Prof T Srinivas Rao, Polepaka Prathap, Gopi, P Komuraiah, B Prashanth, J Rajender, B Manohar and K Suman were among others present.
