Water in Srisailam reaches maximum level: 1,24,886 cusecs of water released to Nagarjunasagar

Officials have taken steps to fill the water level at Srisailam reservoir. The decision was made after flooding has decreased. A flood of 1,71,794 cusecs from Jura, Handrineeva and Sunkesula, reached Srisailam.

Two radial crust gates from the dam have been opened by 10 feet, and 55,874 cusecs of water are being discharged to Nagarjuna Sagar.

With the addition of another 69,012 cusecs after production at the two powerhouses, 1,24,886 cusecs of water are left to Nagarjunasagar. On Monday evening the reservoir had 213.8824 TMC of water storage. The water level of the dam reached 884.70 feet.

The release of water through the four radial crust gates at the Nagarjuna Sagar Project continued on Monday. The water level of the Sagar Reservoir stands at 589.50 feet. This is equivalent to 310.5510 TMCs. The total outflow from Sagar is 1,10,184 cusecs.
