We have not chosen path of factionalism: Bhuma Mounika
Hyderabad: Bhuma Mounika, sister of Bhuma Akhila Priya, made sensational remarks on the entire police proceedings in the arrest of her sister and questioned the Gandhi hospital management for treating her sister as a 'terrorist.'
Interacting with the media, she stressed, "We are not factionists and we have not chosen the path of factionalism as we are educated and live in 21st century. We know how to behave and live in society. All the baseless allegations which the police levelled against my sister and brother-in-law are false. In fact, the police have been very inhumane towards my sister despite her being ill and having a medical condition from the past."
"The way the police have taken my sister from her residence to the police station and from there on to hospital and, later, to prison is totally condemnable and most importantly what was the need for the Gandhi hospital management to switch off the hospital lights when my sister was being taken for check-up? Though she started getting seizures in hospital only, she was not treated properly and the women constables present on the spot were giggling at the condition of my sister. If she did not have any medical condition then why would the superintendent of the prison call me to get her previous medical reports as she was not feeling well," alleged Mounika.
She further lamented, "We were not even allowed to use our mobile torch. What sin have we committed that the State government is behaving with us in such a way? Is holding property in Hyderabad a crime and is being a settler crime in Hyderabad and why are we being told that settlers cannot own properties in Hyderabad? Though we were born in AP, we were raised in Hyderabad and this is our hometown."
Clarifying their possession about the Hafeezpet lands, Mounika said, "When my father was alive he purchased the lands and made investments in many places. When my father expired there were many events which unfolded in connection with lands which he possessed. However, when the issue of Hafeezpet land came to my sister's notice, she tried to resolve it amicably and I also visited a builder's office once to resolve the matter. Apart from it, we still have the land documents with us which extends to nearly about 70 acres and maybe, for this reason, some crooked parties have eyed our lands and are creating all such troubles for us."
"If the opposite parties are trying to settle the matter in a peaceful manner then why would we dare do such a thing? We are being framed unnecessarily and are being provoked to commit an offence, though we don't intend to commit any such offence and all the events which have unfolded recently in our lives look like a larger conspiracy to us," she alleged.
