We need wafadaars, not chowkidars: KTR
Hyderabad: TRS Working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday asserted that the country would not need 'Chowkidars' but 'Wafadaars' like Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Addressing a meeting during a road show at Parigi in support of Chevella candidate G Ranjeet Reddy, Rama Rao said farmers in Mahbubnagar had expected that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give some assurances, but he disappointed them without announcing anything on projects. "We don't need 'chowkidaars,' we need wafadaars like KCR," said KTR.
KTR further said that if Congress won, it would benefit Rahul Gandhi, if BJP won, it would benefit Narendra Modi. If TRS won, it would benefit Telangana. Telangana State needs water for irrigation.
"A MLA took out a 'padayatra' for water, but the Congress leaders filed cases against the projects, he alleged. A candidate from here said development is possible through a national party. If this was the case, why the Congress party did not develop the country during the last seven decades," asked KTR.
The TRS leader asked the people not to get confused with the dialogues of the opposition parties.
He said the national parties had done nothing for the people and whereas KCR brought Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Beema and other schemes. "If we want to have national project status for Kaleshwaram and Palamur Rangareddy project, we should have 16 MP seats," said KTR.
He assured the people that two more new mandals would be formed in Parigi.
KTR said that the Chief Minister has made Telangana State into Bangaru Telangana and said that there would be no need to beg Centre if there are TRS 16 MPs.
