Welfare of Ex-Servicemen should be given top priority: Governor
Hyderabad: The 2nd meeting of the State Managing Committee of Special Fund for Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Ex-Servicemen, Telangana state, chaired by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan was held at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the Sainik Welfare authorities should go beyond the rules and help the needy Ex-Servicemen and not to go strictly by rules. He said the Ex-Servicemen should be extended support with sympathy and empathy as they have sacrificed for the country. He further said to the extent funds are available all possible support should be extended to the Ex-Servicemen and their family members right in time, by relaxation of rules, if necessary.
The Governor appreciated the services of Telangana Director of Sainik Welfare Col. Ramesh Kumar (Retd.), for doing a good job with utmost dedication for the welfare of Ex-Servicemen in the state.
Telangana Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi, Governor's Principal Secretary Harpreet Singh, Principal Secretary Finance Ramakrishna, representatives of various defence organisations, who are members of the State Managing Committee have attended the meeting.
