White tiger dies at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad

A white male tiger aged about 21 years and six months died at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad on Monday night.

The royal bengal tiger which was suffering from lameness caused by old age was kept away from display for the last five years, said a statement from zoo.

The tiger was under intensive care at the summer house for the last three days. A team from college of veterinary science, Rajendranagar, LaCONES, CCMB and zoo conducted the autopsy and confirmed that the death was due to 'senility-induced asphyxia'.
