Hyderabad: The women in TSRTC buses were in shock for a moment when the bus conductor has asked for a ticket. It is learnt the newly formed government as made TSRTC buses free for women but the women on Friday were in a shock when the bus conductors had asked them for ticket.
The confused women in several buses questioned the conductors on why they have to purchase a ticket when they travel for free. The conductors had to explain the women that they do not to buy a ticket but as a proof of Aadhhar card, the conductor itself would give them a ticket on which it is mention Rs 0.
When asked about their experience in TRSTC on Friday morning, a woman identified as Sunitha said that she was in a shock after the conductor has asked for a ticket and she had not carried any cash with her. She said that government might have revoked the decision on free ride for women in RTC buses. She added that the conductor asked her to show the Aadhaar based on which he issued Rs 0 ticket.

Sajjanar said that Mahalakshmi - a free bus travel facility for women recently introduced by the government is getting a good response from women. This scheme is being implemented peacefully without any complaints. “The TSRTC has updated the software to implement the free bus travel facility scheme for women more efficiently. The software was installed on TIM's machines. The corporation will issue Rs 0 tickets through the machines from Friday,” he said.
He asked the women passengers to carry identification cards like aadhaar, voter, and other identity cards with them to travel on a bus. All women, girls, students, and third genders should use this scheme which has been made available and it is mandatory to take Rs 0 tickets from the conductor, said Sajjanar.
