Will call for Telangana bandh if needed: TSRTC JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy
TSRTC JAC convenor said that they will call for a statewide bandh on October 19 if needed. "The strike is not meant about wages, the primary reason is to save RTC," Reddy said.
Speaking at the press club in Somajiguda, Reddy said that around 7000 employees working in the TSRTC were retired and no recruitment has been announced by the government for the last five years. He also questioned the government as to why it is not according to the provident fund (PF) money to the employees. Over three-fourth of people depended on the RTC and they are backing the strike, he added.
The meeting was attended by TJS chief Kodandaram, CPM state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram, TDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and BJP leader Ramachandra Rao.
Government's activities are unlawful: Justice Chandrakumar
Justice Chandrakumar claimed that the government's activities are unlawful. Around Rs 1000 crore is being paid to the government in the form of tax for a year. He also asked about the promises made to increase salaries of TSRTC employees.
