Will nab the culprits soon on Priyanka Reddy's murder case: Cyberabad CP Sajjanar

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Thursday said that the police would soon nab the culprits in veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy's murder case.

He said the police collected the call data of the doctor and also the CCTV footage from toll plaza and nearby areas. A total of 15 teams have been deployed to nab the culprits, he added.

The police suspect that the victim could have been kidnapped, raped, and murdered before her body was brought to the under-construction bridge of Chatanpally village where she was set ablaze.

They also suspect that her vehicle tyre could have been deliberately punctured. The police were examining the CCTV footage collected from toll plaza, tyre puncture shop and others in the area.

The police already questioned several persons regarding the horrific murder and found some crucial evidences. The Commissioner said that the police was trying to ascertain whether the murder was committed by known persons to the victim or lorry drivers.

As the victim allegedly told her sister, while talking to her on phone, that she was scared by looking at some lorry drivers, the police took some lorry drivers into custody to question them.

The Commissioner said that they were investigating to find out who picked Priyanka from the toll plaza. As the victim last spoke to her sister before her phone got switched off, the police would analyse and verify the call data of the victim on Wednesday and concentrate especially on data between 6 pm and 9:30 pm, during which she reached ORR Shamshabad.

The police recovered Priyanka's two-wheeler 30 to 40 kilometres from where her charred body was found.

Meanwhile, after completing post-mortem, the body was handed over to her family members on Thursday.
