Win International Karate Championship

Mahbubnagar: The boys of Keshava Shotokon Karate Academy have achieved accolades for Mahabubnagar district by winning International Karate Championships held in Vizag recently.

Out of 212 candidates who participated from Telangana in the championship, 40 students were from Keshava Shotokon Karate Academy.

They defeated more than 2,000 participants from across 8 countries and excelled in the International Karate Championship and emerged victorious.

From across all states in India, about 514 candidates participated in the tournament and won 514 points, the highest among all the participating countries of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia, Malasia, Maldives and India.

With 514 points India stood first in the International Karate Champioship and particularly the students from Mahbubnagar were the key players who won 4 championships in various segments and achieving the great feat for the country.

Following India, Bangladesh stood second, Sri Lanka third and Nepal stood in the fourth position in championship.

"We are proud that our boys from Mahabubnagar excelled at the international level in the kartate championships.

So far Shotokon Academy has achieved 11 championships at the national, State and international levels," said Keshava, master of Keshava Karate Academy in Mahbubnagar.
