Khammam: The Telangana State Board of Secondary Education (TSBSE) has announced the SSC results on Monday. The State education department convener Janardhan Reddy released the results at 11.30 am in the secretariat.

With pass percentage of 92.45, Khammam district stood a 23rd position in the State. Girls surpassed the boys by a slight margin. With 16,571 students clearing the exams of a total of 17,924, the pass percentage rose tremendously from 82.72 per cent in 2018 to 92.45 per cent. The pass percentage in 2017 was 87.57.

While girls secured a pass percentage of 93.15, boys registered 91.78 per cent. Although the pass percentage rose by nearly 10 per cent from 2018, the districts rank fell from 20 to 23. The increase in overall State pass percentage might be the reason for it. The recent Intermediate examination might have shown an effect in the SSC evaluation.

Speaking to The Hans India, District Educational Officer Madhan Mohan congratulated all the students who passed the exam. He added that the education board maintained complete transparency in evaluation and due to the special interest by officials, the pass percentage in the district has been increasing for the last three years.

Although the drop in district's rank was discouraging, the overall increase in pass percentage is cherishable. He also informed that the students who failed in the exam could apply for recounting and re-verification of results till May 27 and specials counters have been arranged in the district for this process.
