Woman gang-raped in Mahabubabad district, 6 held

A 24-year-old woman was gang-raped here in Mahabubabad district. The incident came to light on Saturday after the police registered a case against the accused.

All the six accused are learned to be identified below 17 years.

The prime accused who is aged about 16 years is a native Mahabubabad district. He was residing in Hyderabad and is working for a catering service. The accused met the woman at his workplace who is hails from Yellandu mandal of Bhadradri district.

Earlier this week, the accused has gone to his native place and the called up the woman to meet him on February 7. The duo went to an orchard where five others are waiting for them.

All the six assaulted the woman sexually. Hearing the screams of the woman, a man dialled 100 and informed the police.

The police reached the spot and arrested the accused. Meanwhile, the woman was sent to a hospital for a medical examination. An investigation is underway.
