Woman held for blackmailing school managements in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Central Crime Station (CCS) personnel of Hyderabad arrested a woman for allegedly morphing photographs of parents and teachers of schools and exhorting money by blackmailing. The accused has been identified as Neha Fathima, a resident of Hyderabad.
According to cybercrime officials, they received a complaint on September 16 in which the complainant stated that she is the principal of a playschool and day care located in Hyderabad. She stated that she maintains the school's official Facebook page.
Last week she found from other sources that a fake page in her name was being operated on Facebook with vulgar and obscene posts and morphed photos of parents, teachers and other staff of the school. The shocked principal immediately approached the police.
The accused uses internet and social media to collect photographs of school children and their parents, from Hyderabad. Later, she creates fake profiles on social media and uploads morphed photos of children and their parents.
Then she approaches them and texts them through Whatsapp and keeps sending texts till they respond. Once they respond, she introduced herself as Sairah Joseph, a Professional in IT background.
To maintain anonymity the accused used different applications on her mobile. The officials found that till now she messaged around 10-15 schools through Facebook and Whatsapp. By registering a case cybercrime police took up investigation.
